I encourage you to read Key’s story (link at the end of the post) – She’s such an inspiring lady and I’m truly delighted to introduce you to her her on Morning Business Chat.

Hi Kay, can you tell us a bit about your business? And what inspired you to start this business?

I am a Business Coach and Consultant who helps entrepreneurs (mainly Coaches, Consultants and Virtual Business Owners) to grow their business online with different systems and strategies to have an abundant flow of new clients, and put their lead generation and sales on autopilot.

I was inspired to start my journey in the coaching industry back in 2012 when I was working for a PTSD treatment facility and I learned about Holistic Life Coaching.

However, my business didn’t take off like I had hoped mainly because I had no clue what I was doing.

On my search for the answers I was looking for on how to grow my Holistic Life Coaching Business, I also started my Masters in Entrepreneurship and figured I could offer Business Coaching on the side.

Long story short, while I was working with a Coach to help me figure out how to grow my Business, I realized that I really enjoy the technical side of business and implementing different systems and strategies, and my Coach at that time helped me realize that I would be much better off focusing on Business Coaching and the technical aspects (I love technology ☺ ) and that’s how I stumbled into the Business Coaching Industry.

What inspired me the most was how so many other coaches, and entrepreneurs struggle building their business, getting clients, and earning the income they desire. I believe everything is possible and if I can help those who want to become successful and overcome the challenges that are holding them back, that always makes my day.

Interview with Kay Sanders - Business Coach, Consultant and best selling author.

Can you give an example of how you’ve helped someone in business?

It really depends on what stage of their business they are at.  If they are still in the beginning stages and don’t have any or only a few clients, the first thing we do is make sure their fundamentals are in place, then we work on acquiring clients. Once they have at least a few clients, we then look at what systems and strategies can we put in place to grow their list, get more exposure, and become more visible.

We also look at ways to create massive income such as creating online courses, digital products and define ways for multiple streams of income.

If they are further along in their business and they already have clients, we then jump right into defining the right systems and strategies that will help them grow their list and create passive and multiple streams of income. I developed a 9 step process I take my clients through which ultimately will take someone who has no clients to making a six figure income. My approach is not a cookie cutter approach, I base all strategies and the order of the strategies based on my clients individual situation, and business goals.

Can you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client would be a coach (life, health, relationship, wellness, etc) who is within their first 5 years of being in business, who are either struggling to get clients, or who already have clients and want to take their business to the next level.

They can be full time in business or still working their full-time job, if they do still work in their full time job, I will help them make that cross over into full time entrepreneurship. I prefer to work with women but also have worked with men, they are usually between the age of 30 and 45.

They are at the point where they are so sick and tired of being stuck and not being able to move forward in their business and are ready to make a change. They are go-getters, high energy, have that hunger for success.

What has been your biggest challenge in business and how did you overcome it?

My biggest challenge has always been my mindset but I think every entrepreneur has that challenge from time to time. The fear of the unknown, the fear of failure, even fear of success, and of course the fear of being rejected.

These fears never really go away but I have been working on myself, have done a lot of personal development, worked with a Mindset Coach and learned to trust myself and have faith in my abilities is really what has helped me break free of a lot of my fears and limiting beliefs. Of course, it’s a life-long work in progress.

In your opinion what do you feel is the best part of being in business?

Having that personal freedom! I am an entrepreneur by heart and always had a hard time with those I used to work for, I am the go-getter type of person and always struggled with having to wait on co-workers to get their things done in order for me to do what I needed to do, and of course management and their decision was always something I had to bite my tongue.

Being an entrepreneur is the best decision I ever made in my life, I am home with my son, I can take time off whenever I want to, I literally have the freedom to do what I want, be who I want to be, earn as much as I want, advance as much as I want and the possibilities and opportunities are endless.

But the best part of all is, I get to help people, make a difference in their life, inspire them to step out of their comfort zone and lead them to great success.

What is your top tip for the small business owner?

Work with a Coach or a Mentor, invest into your business and your future. When I first started out I did not hire a coach, because I thought “well I need to make money first before I can work with a coach”, unfortunately this type of thinking didn’t get me anywhere, because months later I still didn’t make any money, I still didn’t have any clients and I got to the point where I had no other choice but to work with a coach because I honestly had no idea how to move forward.
