As a law of attraction practitioner I talk about focus a great deal and I’m always telling people to focus on what you want but is focusing on what you want enough?

My answer is a firm “NO!”

Our beliefs and inner feelings are always more powerful than focus

I want to try and keep this really simple because many people get confused about how this works.

[tweetthis]If you focus on what you want but your feelings & beliefs are not a match you’ll always struggle[/tweetthis]

When I found myself a single mum, no income, no car, no home and some very limiting beliefs and feelings connected with money, I knew that I had to make some big changes.

Some of my beliefs came from childhood and some had formed throughout my adult life.

I focused on what I wanted.  More money, I said affirmations and I visualized having more money.

Is focusing on what you want enough?

I’d say things like I am rich, I’m a magnet to money, It’s easy for me to make money…. but I simply didn’t believe any of it and although I made some progress, it was very clear to me that my beliefs were causing a massive block for me.

Over the years I’ve used Hypnosis and subliminal messaging which I found useful in connecting with my subconscious mind.
But what I want to tell you about is EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), sometimes known as tapping.

How EFT helps clear limiting emotions and beliefs.

When we use EFT, we tap on meridian points to release negative energy.  Now let’s say as a child we often heard or saw our parents arguing about money, then we may well have a belief, even if you’re not consciously aware of it that there’s never enough money, or money always causes arguments… My own personal belief around money was that people with money aren’t happy and even though we don’t have much money we’re a happy loving family. That may not seem like a big problem as my beliefs about my own family were connected to love, kindness and being happy but the problem was I subconsciously sabotaged myself all the time.  Once I was able to tap on this feeling and belief, I was able to let go the feeling that if I had money I would not be happy.  Sounds crazy doesn’t it? Yet these beliefs and often hidden feelings are so incredibly powerful.

Once your limiting beliefs are cleared, you are then able to start working on attracting the things you want without the blocks in the way.

If you’ve been focusing on what you want and it’s not been showing up, it’s time to take a closer look at your beliefs and inner feelings.

Over to you

  1. What a beautiful post. So true. This is why I am not a greatest fan of affirmations (unless we affirm what is true ). I am glad you came out the other side with EFT, it’s an amazing technique!

  2. Thanks for your post Lenka, it certainly is, I’m now an EFT Master Practitioner because I love it so much and wanted to be able to use it with my clients. If affirmations don’t feel good for you try this instead. I’m in the process of attracting… The Universe is lining everything up for me to…. I love it when… These are powerful law of attraction statements and many people find them more effective. xx
