Making A Memorable Business Event For Self-Promotion

If you can’t go to them, make them come to you. And if you build it, they will come. These two philosophies are the driving force you need to use, when creating a business event that will be for yourself and to promote your business. Throughout the years, companies have formed just to supplement and supply the ability for small businesses to no longer have a small business-like capability to spread their message. You should be overjoyed that you live in such an era, where self-promotion has never been so easy, so fun and cheap. You don’t have to bust your wallet to host an event that is not only entertaining and attention-grabbing but informative and professional. Bear in mind however, that the main attraction for the event is you personally, and not any of the things that you might use to build it. So how can you make your event memorable, but still have it be down to earth?

Don’t make it a hall

Hiring a hall in the venue in which a larger business event is being held is completely okay. You’re already at a formal meeting of similar business minds so why not make the effort to put on a display and presentation that will compete with the rest of the attendees? However, when you’re creating an event just for yourself, it’s a bit of a mismatch move to book your event in a hall. First of all, you’re in a building that no doubt is used for other things. You’ve already taken away a piece of the attention that you should be getting by being ‘just another event’ in a commercial building. Rather you should book an outdoor space, where the focus is clearly on you and your business. The surroundings are informal, it’s welcoming to walk onto a well-kept garden and away from the usual skyrise office buildings and city centers. Rather than going to a place that looks the same as their professional environment, your guests feel more like they’re on a night out, and more likely to let their hair down.

Into the night

You need to make a night of it because when the sun goes down, people tend to relax a little and forget that they’re ‘at work’ even though they’re at an event, that is related to work. This means you need lighting, that will illuminate the night and allow you to see everything as normal despite no natural light being available. Take care of the most important aspect and that is the focal point of your presentation and aims for the event. Custom inflatables such as an LED lighted inflatable tent is a great housing for your televisions and headphone setup where a video about your project, business or aims will be on a loop being displayed to all. Powered by batteries if required, you can remove any need for cables and keep the inflatable tent safe while people are walking in the dark. You can light it up in a color of your choosing, giving you the ability to change the mood with the flick of a switch. Just to make it even more unique, you can place your logo and or business slogan on the outside, making it more official and cool.

Non-alcoholic drinks

All your best-laid plans of making your night memorable can be destroyed by alcohol consumption. Not to say that everybody coming to your event will look to get drunk, but alcohol makes people tired and sleepy. Sure, it will get them to open up more and become loose, but there are other ways to do this such as setting a vibe with music, having some fun activities for them to do so it doesn’t feel like they’re trying to mingle and impress all the time. Buy non-alcoholic drinks that emulate the sensation they give such as sparkling drinks. However, you may want to stay away from cheap carbonated water-based drinks as they often leave a bad aftertaste. Something that is either grape or apple does quite well at events that linger on into the night. It goes without saying that you should be serving food at your event, so go with food that compliments the drinks you’re serving.

Getting people to come to your business event is going to be sketchy at times and exciting when your guests commit to you. Be prepared to make the event both formal and informal, with a presentation of your goals, but also a lightable tent that can host showcases of your business separately. Don’t skimp out on good sparkling drinks and food that goes well with your choice of beverages. The venue should be something outdoors if you can have a choice, it’s less likely to have the vibe of something controlled and typical.
