If you fancy having some fun in the office this winter before the festive season comes along, one project you can play around with this winter is to make some simple DIYs to organize your desk and make the office space more comfortable for the colder months. Here are some fun office DIYs you can try this week.

Photo frame whiteboard

If you always feel like you need a to-do list visible to you at your desk and you no longer want to use a boring piece of paper; this craft is ideal for you.

Simply find a printable marble wallpaper online and print it off in the size of your frame. Place this inside your photo frame for a cute effect and hang it on the wall next to your desk. Write on the glass with whiteboard pen whenever you need it and it will be the ideal, modern looking whiteboard for the desk.

Old pallet footstool

A fun way to use any old pallets you have lying around in your warehouse is to turn them into either a seat or a small footstool. If you switch your pallets to a company like National Pallets you will have plenty left over to use in the office for different things. You want to paint and varnish the pallet a bold color to start off with and make sure that it is smooth with no chance of getting a splinter. Now attach four wheels underneath the pallet and staple a large cushion to the top. You instantly have a mini chair or a footstool to keep at your desk.

DIY business card holder

For a simple and stunning little addition to your desk this year, one thing you can make is a cute organizer for your business cards. To make this you will simply need some wood and paint or your choice. Take a plank of wood approximately 30cm long and cut it into a triangular prism. Alternatively, you can simply have a triangular prism of wood to start with. Now, in 3 cm intervals throughout the wood, drill a thin groove into the tip of the triangle. This will act as a great business card holder. Paint a color of your choice and enjoy it.

Colour coordinated shelf space

If your paperwork always looks like a bomb has gone off in a paper factory; it might be worth you spending some time one afternoon organizing it all into projects and categories. Grab some colored ring binders online and use a different color for each different category. Once you are done, place these up on your shelving in color order for a stunning effect.

DIY memo board

If you have a large blank space on the office wall which is simply screaming for some color and character, one thing you can do is to make a DIY memo board which will be used to hang up meetings and events for the whole office to see. To make one of these you will need a drying rack and some spray paint along with some little clothes hangers. To make the memo board simply spray the drying rack whatever color you want. It could be blue, red, copper, gold… just choose a color which looks lively and fun. Once this is dry hang it on the wall and use mini clothes pegs to hang up your different memos!

Watercolor desk calendar

For a stunning calendar which you can fill in each month as the year goes on, this watercolor desk calendar can be the ideal office hack for everyone. You will want to start off by printing off an A3 piece of paper with your chosen calendar design on it. Don’t include the name of the month because this will change through the year. Take some watercolors which you like and choose 2-3 colors you like. Wet the whole page and use a paintbrush to drop paint onto the page. Let the colors mix and bleed into one another and once you are happy let it dry. Laminate the paper. Hang up on the wall and use it to record meetings and holidays.

Simple neck pillow

For some simple comfort at your desk, if you are struggling a little with your neck, you can make a simple pillow this evening at home. All you need is some pillow stuffing and some stretchy fabric. Cut out and sew up a sausage shake with the fabric but leave one small section open when sewing it up. Add the fluff, seal, and voila!
