The Importance Of Networking When You Are A Blogger

Please note that I have been paid to publish this post – The Importance Of Networking When You Are A Blogger -As always I hope you find it really helpful.

If you have been taking all the steps to grow your blog, but seem to have hit a plateau then you’re not alone.

Every blogger goes through the same phases. You take the time to work on your on page and off page SEO, you’ve optimized your site for conversions and your backlinking strategy is so on point that sites naturally backlink to you. Yet, your earnings and traffic have remained stagnant for some time.

The next step to take your blog to the next level is to network.

Having a community of like minded professionals is important in any business, but for bloggers it is not something many consider as being important.

In this article, I will go over the reasons you should be networking to bring your blog out of the doldrums.

The Importance Of Networking When You Are A Blogger

Going to conventions and meetups

You probably already have a bunch of fellow bloggers that you communicate with over the internet. That is great but often is not enough to form a true relationship.

You should be going to events where you can meet your peers physically so you can really develop a relationship. There will also be people there that are famous in the internet marketing and blogging world that you will meet that you never would be able to contact over the internet.

The SEO meet up at SXSW 2020 is going to be a huge opportunity to meet some big names in the SEO community and learn way more than you ever would by following them on social or taking their webinars. You may even become friends with some of them.

Want to know what the secret sauce is when it comes to SEO or CRO? You’ll be spoon fed tons of useful information over a beer after the convention that you’ll never read about online.

Have something to offer yourself

Every business relationship has to be symbiotic. You often have to give to get. Make sure that before you ask for any help that you are also offering yourself up for something, too.

You may think that the playing field isn’t level and there is nothing that you could offer a true guru, but that isn’t the case.

You may have some insider knowledge of a niche that somebody is looking to enter and can offer some insight. Or, you found that a tried and true method for SEO is suddenly not working. Maybe you know somebody that the person you are cultivating a relationship would like to meet and can arrange it.

There are many ways that you can offer value to somebody else.

When you take a position of serving and being helpful, often it comes back in spades. You don’t have to believe in karma, but a good deed will always be paid back in full.

Start your own meetup

If you aren’t able to get to any conferences due to budget, or distance, then start your own community where you live. Set up a meetup and build up your contacts. Even if you don’t learn anything new, it helps to not feel like you are alone in the wilderness. Being around others who understand what you do makes your work easier to do.
