Business is a serious thing, right? It’s all about targets and crunching numbers, profit margins and expansion. Well, of course, that has something to do with it, and you won’t get very far unless you have the serious basics in place, however business doesn’t have to be well… all business? In fact, you can make a living from the things that you love and find fun in life. Check out the examples below to see what I mean.
Escape rooms
Escape rooms are a new phenomenon within the entertainment business, and they are super popular. They are rooms that hold a series of puzzles, and participants have to solve the puzzles to get the key to leave the room. They have to do this within a certain time limit. Otherwise, they have failed the test!
The rooms are themed area certain areas like a mad scientist laboratory, or prison escape, making them super fun to come up with, especially if your passion is for set design or puzzles. Also once they are created can be used again and again to generate revenue.
There are even course that you can go on to teach you how to put them together, or you can get a specialist in to create one for you as an addition to other entertainment and attractions you may have. With a fee of around £25pp ph, they default a good chance of making a profit too, making this suggestion a great option for a fun business.
Skateparks
Skateparks are another suggestion for a business that revolves around fun. They make an especially good choice for skaters themselves as they can combine their passion in life with a real-world money-making endeavour.
Of course, as with most of these types of businesses, it is often the set up that cost the most money as things like ramps, half pipes, and foam pits will need to be purchased to ensure a range of activities for skaters, as well as safe landing zones. The latter being something that is good for business in two ways. The first is parents will approve (and fund) safe activities and the second is that safety measures are good for protecting you from being sued for any injuries that do occur. Something that really isn’t fun at all, and that you will want to avoid at all costs.
Craft classes
Now, not everybody’s idea of fun is an adrenaline packed activity, and that’s OK. If we were, all the same, the work would be pretty boring right?
That means there is most definitely a place for some more sedate fun things too, such as craft classes. In fact, learning a new craft or skill is something that is popular with many people across all age ranges, genders, and backgrounds, making it a very marketable option. It also makes an excellent choice for folks that woodwork, knit, or paint, as a hobby as they get to have fun while sharing their gift with others and turning a profit. What more could you ask?
A craft class can be a great combination of fun and profit.
