1.Set realistic goals
As the boss of your business, you’ll know that a lot of things need to get done. It may come to a point where the tasks you do have pile up to a point where no one can achieve them alone. When you delegate tasks to your employees, remember that they only have one pair of hands. Don’t pile your employees high with tasks they cannot realistically achieve. It will make them stressed, ill and unable to talk to you about their issues. You’ll push them away.
2. Lead, Don’t Dictate
Rather than acting like a dictator and telling everyone what to do with no reasoning and respect, act like a leader. Leaders don’t just delegate jobs, they set the bar and lead the way, showing everyone how it should be done and allowing them to follow.
3. Stay Positive
Every business has bad months, it’s just the way it is. But stop allowing a small setback to cloud your day and make you grumpy towards your workers. It will rub off on everyone in the room and create a negative atmosphere. If your employees make mistakes or struggle with tasks, it is also essential to be encouraging and show them the right way, rather than telling them what they did wrong.
4. Be Able To Criticise Yourself
You aren’t perfect, just as your employees aren’t. They may need training every so often to widen their skills and build up their experience, and so do you. 5. Let Your Employees Solve Problems
Just because you run the business doesn’t mean everything falls to you when things go wrong. If you have an issue you can’t resolve, ask your employees to help you out. 6. Listen To Your Workers
Being a boss is all about being able to listen to feedback. If there is something that isn’t quite working in the office or some issue going on, invite your employees to talk it out, and together you can figure out how to overcome it.
