What are you tolerating, putting up with and what is incomplete?

What are you tolerating? When you are tolerating things, putting up with things and you have things that are incomplete taking up space in your life, they are taking up space where you could have things you love and enjoy.

Eliminate it exercise

Make a list of all the things you feel that you are tolerating, putting up with and all the things in your life that are incomplete.

Think about people in your life, relationships, your home, family life, your work, your business, your education.

Things you might be tolerating…

  • A friend who takes up too much of your time
  • Children who don’t tidy up after themselves
  • A boss who disrespects you
  • A poor internet service
  • A job you hate
  • A relationship that’s run it’s course
  • Other people’s negative attitudes

Things that are incomplete could be…

  • A project that needs completing
  • Your education
  • Your portfolio
  • A half-finished job around the house
  • A conversation that you keep putting off

So let’s imagine you have a drawer in your kitchen that needs mending.  It’s been that way for weeks and every time you see it, try to open it, you feel annoyed and frustrated.

It’s lowering your vibrational energy to the negative zone (Making you feel negative)

Now it may only be for a second or two, but it’s a negative and it’s taking space in your mind.

Make your plan to eliminate these things as soon as possible.

I will also add that this is not a one-time only exercise.  New things will crop up.  Just be aware of them and eliminate then as quickly as possible.

Oh, and don’t worry if you end up with a long list, most of us do when we first do this exercise.

Just tackle one thing at a time.

In the comments below, let me know one thing that you’re tolerating, putting up with or is incomplete that you plan to eliminate this week.

Happy living

  1. Wow that’s going to be a HUGE list….. might start with one part of one room and work on from there.
    Thanks Wendy

  2. Well now, this is going to be a long list of that I’m certain buuuut, I think the first thing on my list is going to be, I’m tolerating and putting up with— disrespect. Time for that to stop. Respect has always been high my list of things I need and expect. When did I get so lackadaisical about it? Suppose it’s much like my emotional eating…. one foot in front of the other, that’s the only way to change. You inspire me Wendy!

  3. Thank you Robyn. You’re absolutely right, one step at a time. As with the respect thing, I’d like to recommend a mini journal too. Keep a note of things that show respect. And make sure that you’re focusing on respect by praising any respectful behaviour “That was very respectful, thank you. I really appreciate it when you speak (act) so respectfully”

Rather than “I don’t want you to be disrespectful.”

Also let people know that you expect them to be respectful and how to be respectful.

Finally, make sure that you are a shining example of what you want to see in others.

    xx
