After the summer holidays, September is the time to get back into a good blogging routine.
Whilst I’m so not looking forward to the 6.30 am starts again, I am looking forward to being back in a good daily routine both in my business and personal life.
My blogging goal
My goal is to be able to live from my blog income – My first milestone goal is £2000 a month.
I’m a firm believer that if you’ve got a goal, then you also need an action plan to make it happen.
So here’s what I’ve got planned for September.
Blog action plan
Now, first things first, let’s put the kettle on and have a cup of tea. I don’t know about you, but it really helps me get focused.
I’ve been playing about with the blogging schedule a bit and I’m going to go for twice a week for now. I’m going for Mondays and Thursdays. I’d really like to be posting more than this each week but I do believe I need to be consistent each week, so this is what I’m going for until I’ve got at least two months of posts schedules, then I’ll try and up my weekly postings.
If you’re a blogger, I’d love to know how often you are posting and how often you recommend.
Sorting out my subscriber emails
I’m currently not happy with my opt-in. Well, that’s not absolutely true. The opt-in is great (even though I say so myself). Subscribers get a free copy of my Ideal Business Workbook. But I had a few issues with downloads I’d created on the blog, so I decided to make then only available to subscribers of my mailing list and things got a bit jumbled.
I want to make the downloads available straight from the blog and keep the opt-in just for the workbook.
Update older posts
Pinterest is by far the site that drives the most traffic to my blog, so I’m going to work through all of my older blogs and make sure they all have good pinnable images. Also, I’ll be checking the SEO (not that I’m a pro in this area) and seeing if I can add anything to the posts to make them better.
Combining blog posts with YouTube
I’m going to be working through older posts and creating YouTube videos to support the blog post. I’ll then either add a link to the video or actually embed the video into the post.
So that’s my plan for September, I’d love to hear from you and what your blogging plans are.
Wishing you a very productive and successful month ahead.
