I want to share 4 tips with you today to help you manage your business day so that you can be more productive.

You can watch my video here and then I’ve added notes below – Tips to manage your time and how to be more productive.

Sorry, the lighting is a bit weird.  I recorded at night time which didn’t work so great but I hope you find my tips helpful all the same.

We all have exactly the same 24 hours each day but some people seem to be so much more productive than others.  When I first started my coaching business, I was super busy – Burnt out busy but I really wasn’t achieving very much and I wasn’t productive.  Big changes were needed in my own life and business.  The tips that I’m about to share with you made a huge difference to me and I’ve shared these tips on how to be productive with so many people over the years. I hope they help you too.

How to be productive and get more done in less time

1. Write your goals and action plan for your business day down

I recommend that at the end of each business day, you take a few minutes to write down your goals and action plan for the next business day.  This means your subconscious mind has time to prepare for what you want to achieve and will support you in staying focused.  Also, you’re then ready to get straight into your work when you start work rather than spending time deciding what to do first.

Do a quick review in the morning and get going.

Do this every business day.

2. Do your most important jobs first

These are the things that add the most value to your business.  If you’re a content creator, create a piece of content first.  If you’re an author, set aside a specific amount of time to write first, if your clients connect with you via email or social media, set some time aside to check these first.

Only you will know the most important jobs in your business, put these at the top of your list for the day.

3. List your tasks for the day in order of importance

This is essential to stay focused and if you’re like me and can easily get sidetracked it really is a must.

From your goals, create your PRIORITY TASKS for the day.  I recommend that you have no more than 3 top priority tasks.  These are the things you absolutely must do.

NOTE: Your priority tasks should be these things that are either essential for you business such as submitting accounts or the tasks that help you achieve you business goals.

4. Track your time during your business work hours

It’s easy to get to the end of your business work time and think well I don’t know where the time went and not have actually achieved that much at all.

Tracking your time helps you be more productive and stay focused on completing your work on time.

It will also quickly show up where you are unnecessarily spending your time.

  1. Writing down my goals and action plan daily does definitely keep me on track. Using highlighters and colored pens for certain things and crossing off in same color has help me already.
    Thanks Wendy!

  2. This is a great reminder for me. I have gotten out of the habit of using my calendar lately and I’ve been feeling really overwhelmed. No wonder. Thanks, Wendy!
