Top people to help you improve your finances

These people can really help you to improve your financesI’ve talked a lot on this blog about money.  I had major money blocks.  They’re steadily shifting and I’m making friends with money.  I’m changing my mindset about money and I’ve learned how to get my money sorted.

In this post I want to share with you people who have helped me and inspired me over the past couple of years.

I’m going to list them in order that they’ve come into my life as I think this is a natural progression, at least it was for me.  All have brought something different to the money table for me.

Money Bondage by Sophie Bennet

Sophie is a truly lovely person and I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with her in person. Money Bondage was the first book that really had me look at my relationship with money.  I knew I had limiting beliefs already.  What this book did for me was challenge my ideas and bring everything to the surface for me to examine.  Sophie is a woman writing for women and she inspired me greatly.  I found Sophie’s story inspiring.  I began thinking “Well I’ve got enough money to buy a pack of bacon” (something she didn’t have at one point), so if Sophie can do it, so can I.

The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey

Dave Ramsey for me is the guy who tells it straight.  For me, this was exactly what I wanted and needed.  Someone who was going to just say “Do it!”

These are practical “common sense” actions for people who are struggling with money and want to build a secure financial future.

Dave’s famous for saying

“If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else.”

What I’ve found with a lot of the mindset advice is that it’s all very well thinking positive thoughts about money etc,  but at the time of reading Total Money Makeover I needed practical advice on keeping myself out of long-term debt and a roof above my head.  That’s what I got from Dave.

My biggest takeaways are:

  • Don’t buy stuff that I don’t want to impress people I don’t like.  For me this was more don’t buy stuff to fit in with everyone else.
  • Build my emergency fund.  This has been crucial for my own peace of mind.  It helps me feel so much more secure and therefore able to create a positive mindset around money.

If you decide to buy this Total Money Makeover I highly recommend that you also buy the workbook as this is a great help as you work through Dave’s advice.

And then along came the Lucky Bitch

I always smile when I think of Denise Duffield-Thomas aka The Lucky Bitch, she’s my kind ofgirl.

Denise is very much on my wavelength.  She talks law of attraction and EFT.  And on more than one occasion I’ve been asked why I signed up for Lucky Bitch Bootcamp as I actually teach law of attraction and EFT.

The answer is simple.  We all need support and guidance from other people.  Denise specializes in helping women GET RICH.

I read both of Denise’s books Lucky Bitch and Get Rich Lucky B-tch.

Now I do want to point out at this stage that Denise is not a b-tch and she’s not about creating b-tches either.  What she is about is helping women step into their own power and brilliance around money.

Margaret Lynch helped my tap into wealth

Margaret is one of those people who instantly makes you feel great.  Yes, in the book she takes you to some dark places but she pulls you out the other side too.

The book is packed with scripts plus links to free videos that will help even further.

Again, yes I’m a qualified EFT Master Practitioner, why would I buy this book?  Well really, why reinvent the wheel.  Margaret has done such an amazing job and I like having guidance, especially in this area of my life, just like my clients like having me there to guide them and support them.

Get Tapping into wealth

 Finally the lovely Sarupa Shah

I met Sarupa through a 30 day blogging challenge I took at the end of 2014.  Sarupa shared a blog post that I loved ~ You can find out more about it here.

I still have my money goal under my pillow.

Be sure to check out Sarupa’s free Money Affirmations Book and take note of how she recommends using them.

To all of these wonderful people, I’d like to say a big thank you.

Well, there we go.  I think that’s more than enough for you to be getting on with if you want to improve your financial situation.

If you’ve already read any of these books or joined Lucky Bitch Bootcamp, I’d love to hear from you.  Leave a comment below and let me know what you think.

And if you found this information useful, do your friends a favor and share it with them.  You never know who needs it.

  1. I too have Sarupa’s money goal written on a piece of paper under my pillow and I’ve also connected with a few of Denise Duffield-Thomas’ ideas. Good selection of help in this post!
