Don’t Just Treat Your Staff, Wow Them!

Running a business comes with a lot of different areas for you to focus on – especially when it comes to your staff. Not only do you have to go through what can feel like a grilling recruitment process to find the right people, you then have to work on keeping them with you. From offering them a healthy salary and providing them with working benefits like a pension option and even a car, to training them and keeping them interested, there’s a lot you have to think about. One of the things that you might want to make a little easier, is staff incentives. When you have a sales team, you may find yourself needing to come up with creative ideas to keep pushing them to work hard. So why not try one of these?

Don’t Just Treat Your Staff, Wow Them!

Gift Certificates

So many believe that money works well. But when you already offer a yearly bonus, or commission on sales, going in with a monetary incentive can often feel like not much of an incentive after all. So, you’re going to want to go with a different take on it. That’s where gift certificates come in. Whether you offer $20 or $500, you could set the certificate as the goal, and let your winning staff member pick out where they want it for. That way, you really are treating them, because their incentive can be spent on something fun!

Trips

Another killer incentive idea that always goes down well is travel. So many people want to get away from it all, and enjoy various vacations a year. But then life takes over and they get other priorities. But if they win a break? Then, of course, they’re going to go. It’s something that everybody wants, and will often work harder to win!

Trophies

Or maybe you want to work with a workplace trophy instead? This could even be something that you put on alongside another kind of incentive. Or a trophy that you rotate weekly. So take a look on a trophies website to find a kind you’ll like. Then, you’ll be able to engrave it with your business details and incentivize your staff.

Honors

What about incentive them with something that they’d really like? If you know that members of your staff really want to speak at an event or run a project, for example, you could make that the next incentive. It could even be a ‘mystery’ incentive – one that you chose based on the winner, so that you can ensure it’s personal to what they want and that they’re really going to be wowed!

A Promotion

Or, you could even look at taking that last point a step further and rewarding them with a promotion. Although you may not want to incentivize them with the option, if it’s something that they’ve earned fair and square, you could always wow them with a promotion as a reward for all of their outstanding hard work, especially when its something that you’ve know they’ve been aiming for.
