Have you got your business goals sorted for the year?

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be thinking about what you want to achieve over the coming months and focusing on your business goals.

If you’ve been around me for any time, you’ll know I’m BIG on Goals.

So I want to definitely encourage you to write your goals down and focus on them every day.

What are you business goal areas?

For me personally, I have the following goals in my business:

  • Financial goals
  • Project goals – Course creation, services, books to write…
  • Client goals
  • Social media goals
  • Blog goals
  • Mailing list goal
  • YouTube goals

Be open to opportunities

I really love goal setting and I know for me personally if I didn’t dedicate regular time to goal setting and planning I wouldn’t achieve very much, my business would become stagnant and I would be frustrated and probably broke.

But here’s a little secret I want to share with you.

At the end of my goals, I write this statement…

I am open to wonderful opportunities that are a match for the life and business I love.

Wonderful opportunities come up in business and life all the time if we are open to them.  I remember Louise Hay talking about people who say they want things and they hold themselves all scrunched up, closed to what they want.

The same I believe is true in business. Let the Universe know you are open to opportunities and don’t let your goals be so rigid you miss out on opportunities.

Here’s an example:

I made a decision a long time ago in my business that I wanted to be an information provider, someone who helps connect great businesses, products and services with the people who need them.  I also knew I didn’t want to be a high priced coach.  I’ll talk more about my personal struggle to come to this realization in another post.

So this year when Blab came along, it is not in my action plan and was not featured on my goals list, but wow, what a great opportunity this is for me and it will certainly be a great way for me to do many of the things I want to do in my own business.  So I was open to trying it out and adding it into my business plan.

Opportunities can come in all different ways, be open to them and check to see if they are a match for you.  Not all opportunities are.

Get help where you need it to achieve your business goals

Okay, my final piece of advice for you, to help you achieve your business goals is this.  Get help where you need it.  None of us can do everything or know everything.  To keep improving your business, I strongly believe we need to get help when and where we need it.

Who might you need help from?

Me, or someone like me, to help you get the right mindset, be productive and keep you accountable.

An accountant, someone who can help you create a better blog, someone who can help you build your mailing list, a Virtual Assistant, a social media expert…

Or you may need to take a course, read a book or ask someone in business for advice (never be afraid to ask for advice or a recommendation).
